Test Design Engineer II
About this role
Astro Mechanica seeks a Test Design Engineer II to develop and operate test infrastructure for jet engine and subsystems R&D. You'll design test stands, conduct hardware testing, analyze performance data, and collaborate with propulsion engineers to validate designs in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
What you'll do
- Design test stands, fixtures, and supporting hardware for new test capabilities
- Develop test plans, instrumentation schemes, and data collection methods
- Conduct fluid system component performance analyses
- Collaborate with propulsion engineers to validate models and characterize performance
- Document work including P&IDs, schematics, and test procedures
- Conduct hardware testing and implement corrective actions based on results
