About this role

Astro Mechanica seeks a Structures Design Engineer II to contribute to the design and analysis of advanced aerospace structures for high-performance aircraft. You'll work with composite and metallic materials, perform CAD modeling and FEA, and collaborate across disciplines in a fast-paced aerospace environment focused on supersonic flight technology.

What you'll do

  • Design and analyze composite and metallic structures for high-performance aircraft
  • Perform CAD modeling, structural drawings, and finite element analysis
  • Conduct hand calculations and trade studies balancing performance, weight, cost, and manufacturability
  • Collaborate with aero, propulsion, manufacturing, and test teams on structural requirements
  • Support design reviews, manufacturing activities, and testing programs
  • Maintain documentation and configuration control of designs and models
