About this role
Archer seeks an experienced Aerospace Software Certification Engineer to serve as a subject matter expert overseeing system, software, and hardware design assurance processes for their electric aircraft development. The role involves reviewing lifecycle data, conducting compliance reviews against FAA standards, managing supplier oversight, and interfacing with certification authorities.
What you'll do
- Act as SME for system, software, and airborne electronic hardware design assurance processes for internal development and suppliers
- Review and approve software/hardware lifecycle data for compliance with aerospace standards
- Execute design assurance reviews for internal systems and supplier developments per ARP4754A/ARP4761 standards
- Coordinate with FAA DERs and certification authorities on compliance reviews and follow-up activities
- Generate and conduct independent reviews of development and verification processes
- Maintain and track resolution of issues identified in design assurance activities
