About this role
Anduril Industries seeks an Android Engineer to design and deploy real-time, map-based mobile applications for controlling tactical drone systems. You'll work on both frontend interfaces using modern Android technologies and backend services, collaborating with diverse engineering teams to deliver military-grade software.
What you'll do
- Design and build real-time map-based UIs for displaying sensor data and controlling aircraft via Android ATAK plugin ecosystem
- Define and implement APIs for network communications, telemetry, vehicle configuration, and full motion video streaming
- Architect foundational software systems and user experience workflows with chief engineers, designers, and end-user customers
- Develop high-performance frontend and backend code using Jetpack Compose, Java, Kotlin, C++, Rust, or Golang
- Test and evaluate software across simulations, benchtop hardware, and live flight assets
- Provide on-call support to clients and travel up to 30% for field operations
