Anduril Industries
Signal Processing Engineer, Space
About this role
Anduril Industries seeks a Signal Processing Engineer to develop discrimination algorithms for space and missile defense systems. You'll create EO/IR sensor processing pipelines that classify threats from decoys and debris in real-time, working on AI-powered space domain awareness capabilities.
What you'll do
- Develop discrimination algorithms for EO/IR sensors to classify threats versus decoys, debris, and clutter
- Design and implement signal processing pipelines including detection, feature extraction, and image processing
- Build physics-based models and conduct Monte Carlo analysis, sensor playback, and hardware-in-the-loop testing
- Analyze and optimize algorithms for EO/IR sensor phenomenology, noise, SNR, and environmental effects
- Transition discrimination algorithms from prototypes to production code with software engineering teams
- Engage with customers to understand mission needs and demonstrate system performance
What they're looking for
- Signal processing algorithm design and implementation
- EO/IR sensor phenomenology and detection theory
- Classification and decision logic development
- Modeling, simulation, and Monte Carlo analysis
- Algorithm optimization and production deployment
- Image processing and feature extraction
- Collaborative engineering across teams
- Physics-based modeling
