About this role

Anduril Labs seeks a Quantum Software Engineer to design and deploy quantum-enhanced solutions for defense and national security applications. You'll develop hybrid quantum algorithms, integrate quantum computing across defense systems, and work with cutting-edge quantum platforms alongside a multidisciplinary team of technologists and engineers.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, and deploy quantum-enhanced applications and services for defense and national security
  • Develop hybrid quantum algorithms focused on practical scalability and real-world applicability
  • Evaluate and communicate classical and quantum optimization algorithms, trade-offs, and performance characteristics
  • Participate in full quantum software development lifecycle from concept through deployment and maintenance
  • Collaborate with delivery leads, application developers, and solutions architects on quantum solutions
  • Integrate quantum-enhanced solutions into existing and new defense systems

What they're looking for

  • Quantum programming (Qiskit, CUDA-Q, Q#, Cirq, or PennyLane)
  • C, C++, Python, or compiled general-purpose programming languages
  • Linear algebra, matrix decompositions, probability theory, and computational complexity
  • Database systems and SQL (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL)

Likely interview questions

  • Describe a quantum computing project you've worked on. What quantum programming language or SDK did you use, and what challenges did you encounter in translating the problem into a quantum algorithm?
  • How do you approach designing hybrid quantum-classical algorithms? Can you walk us through an example where you determined when to use quantum vs. classical components?
