About this role

Anduril Industries seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop space hardware systems that enhance military space capabilities. You'll lead hardware design from concept through flight, manage subsystem responsibility, and ensure robust, innovative solutions for contested space operations.

What you'll do

  • Own hardware design lifecycle from concept to launch using CAD, analysis, and prototyping
  • Lead subsystem design reviews and communicate technical status to team members
  • Run structural and thermal analysis, conduct vendor visits, and execute hardware test plans
  • Build and test prototypes, troubleshoot failures, and transition designs to flight production
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation including drawings, test plans, and procedures
  • Travel to test sites and vendors as needed for hands-on validation

  • Hand fabrication and machine shop experience (mill, lathe, hand tools)
  • Engineering fundamentals: heat transfer, statics, solid mechanics, materials

  • Problem-scoping and requirements definition
  • Electronic component integration (PCBAs, motors, sensors)
  • Structural or thermal testing and data analysis
