About this role
Anduril Industries seeks an HPC Systems Engineer to administer and support on-premises high-performance computing infrastructure for advanced lethality modeling and simulation work. You'll maintain scientific computing environments, troubleshoot complex systems, and develop automation tools to enable mission-critical analysis across a specialized defense engineering setting.
What you'll do
- Administer and troubleshoot on-prem HPC systems supporting modeling and simulation workflows
- Install, maintain, and update scientific codes and runtime environments
- Diagnose and resolve issues across compute nodes, storage, queues, operating systems, and user workflows
- Manage storage systems, data movement, and filesystem infrastructure
- Develop scripts and automation tools to improve analyst productivity
- Partner with analysts, engineers, security teams, and vendors to enhance system reliability and secure operations

- Linux/Unix system administration in HPC or scientific computing environments
- Bash and Python scripting for automation and troubleshooting
- Experience with scientific codes (CTH, ALE3D, Sierra, ParaView, Cubit, VisIt)
- Scientific software build tools (CMake, compilers, MPI/OpenMPI, OpenMP, environment modules)
- Storage and filesystem management (NFS/NAS)
- Networking and TCP/IP fundamentals
- Secure computing practices and data handling
- Windows and multi-platform system administration
