About this role

Anduril Industries seeks an experienced Functional Safety Engineer to lead comprehensive safety programs for energetic materials and explosives across design, manufacturing, testing, and handling. You'll serve as the subject matter expert ensuring compliance with DoD, ATF, federal, and industry standards while safeguarding personnel and operations.

What you'll do

  • Acquire and maintain licenses, permits, and authorizations for energetic materials with regulatory bodies
  • Develop and implement explosives safety plans, operating procedures, and quantity distance calculations
  • Conduct specialized safety inspections, audits, and compliance assessments of facilities and operations
  • Lead hazard analyses, quantitative risk assessments, and safety case development for energetic processes
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances with root cause analysis
  • Develop and deliver specialized training programs on energetic materials safety and regulatory compliance
