About this role
Anduril Industries seeks a Field Test Engineer to support autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) operations and testing from their Quonset, Rhode Island facility. The role combines hands-on vehicle troubleshooting, sea deployment support, and documentation of test results in a fast-paced defense technology environment.
What you'll do
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting, repair, operation, and maintenance of AUVs in field settings
- Lead daily AUV operations including pre-mission testing, launch/recovery, tasking, and data analysis
- Deploy at-sea to support AUV operations from various support vessels
- Write, execute, and review test plans during sea testing campaigns
- Author detailed operational test reports documenting execution and results
- Coordinate test execution with vendors, partners, and logistics providers

- 3+ years operating robotic systems at-sea in commercial or research environments
- On-deck operations using ship cranes, A-frames, or AUV launch/recovery systems
- Linux and command-line interface proficiency
- Electronics troubleshooting and test equipment operation
- Microsoft Excel and technical documentation
- Subsea operational procedures and equipment knowledge
- Software debugging and debugging experience
- Strong communication and customer support abilities
