About this role
Anduril Industries seeks an experienced Field Test Engineer to lead hands-on operations, testing, and maintenance of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) in maritime environments. The role combines field deployment, technical troubleshooting, and documentation in a fast-paced defense technology setting based in Rhode Island.
What you'll do
- Operate and maintain AUVs in the field, including troubleshooting, repair, and pre-mission testing
- Lead local AUV operations including launch, recovery, vehicle tasking, and data analysis
- Write, review, and execute test plans during sea trials and at-sea deployments
- Author detailed operational test reports documenting AUV platform performance and capabilities
- Coordinate test execution with vendors, partners, and logistics companies
- Support software UI design and user documentation for AUV systems

- 5+ years operating robotic systems at-sea in commercial or research offshore environments
- On-deck operations with ship-based crane, A-frame, or AUV launch/recovery systems
- Linux and command line interfaces; software debugging
