Wire Harness Engineer
About this role
ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Wire Harness Engineer in Berkeley, CA to design and validate battery module electronics and control systems. You'll work cross-functionally with mechanical and electrical teams on connector selection, cable routing, shielding, and harness assembly specifications for energy storage applications.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with mechanical, compliance, and electrical engineers on harness requirements and material/connector selection
- Create 2D electrical schematics and fabrication drawings for wire harness assemblies
- Identify suitable materials and components; coordinate with procurement on supplier sourcing
- Define routing, shielding, wire color, sealing, and EMI design specifications
- Work with mechanical engineers on CAD routing and harness fixation points
- Troubleshoot wire harness validation and communicate project progress to stakeholders
