About this role
ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Mechanical Engineer II in Longmont, CO to design precision opto-mechanical systems and assemblies for advanced applications. You'll work on optical integration, pointing mechanisms, and ruggedized structures while collaborating across engineering disciplines on complex product development challenges.
What you'll do
- Design and develop precision mechanical components and optical system assemblies
- Integrate optical elements (lenses, mirrors, laser paths) into mechanical structures
- Develop pointing and stabilization mechanisms including gimbals and precision actuation systems
- Perform tolerance analysis and GD&T to ensure optical alignment and performance
- Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and design iteration
- Collaborate with optical, electrical, and systems engineering teams on cross-functional projects
