About this role
ALTEN Technology USA seeks an Interior Systems Engineer to design and develop instrument panel and hard trim systems for vehicles. Working onsite in Long Beach, you'll lead concept through production, balancing innovation, regulatory compliance, and manufacturing feasibility across multiple development stages.
What you'll do
- Develop hard trim system requirements, specifications, and 3D geometry in collaboration with design and supply chain teams
- Create component and system targets for function, cost, weight, and investment alignment with vehicle goals
- Design innovative solutions that address crash load cases while optimizing materials and manufacturing methods
- Validate designs through analytical and physical testing to ensure compliance with federal regulations
- Drive novel construction techniques and materials from concept to production feasibility
- Coordinate with studio, packaging, manufacturing, and suppliers to deliver optimal solutions and present concepts to senior management
