About this role

Alloy seeks an Applied AI Engineer to drive AI and automation initiatives across the organization from within the centralized Ops team. You'll identify high-impact opportunities, build and deploy AI solutions, and enable teams to adopt AI practices, serving as a bridge between cutting-edge capabilities and business needs.

What you'll do

  • Identify and prioritize automation and AI opportunities aligned with strategic business goals
  • Design, build, and deploy AI solutions ranging from simple automations to LLM-based workflows
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand pain points and translate them into technical solutions
  • Establish best practices, standards, and frameworks for building and evaluating AI solutions
  • Run enablement sessions and build internal tools to help teams adopt AI independently
  • Measure impact and continuously iterate on internal AI tooling and processes

What they're looking for

  • Production experience with LLMs and AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
  • Python or similar programming language
  • Workflow automation tools (Zapier, Make, n8n, or custom pipelines)
  • Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • SQL and data tooling experience
  • Business acumen focused on ROI and impact
  • Comfort with ambiguity and bias toward shipping
  • Startup environment experience
