About this role
Allen Control Systems seeks a Test Operations Engineer to execute live field tests for an autonomous drone-defense system, serving as the bridge between ground operations and the engineering team. You'll manage test setup and execution, troubleshoot complex hardware/software issues, and deliver actionable data and findings to drive system refinement.
What you'll do
- Execute live field test events with full lifecycle management including system setup, validation, and teardown
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, electrical, and integration issues across system boundaries
- Collect, organize, and document test data through instrumentation, logs, video capture, and performance analysis
- Translate engineering objectives into repeatable test processes with clear pass/fail criteria and readiness procedures
- Support high-visibility demonstrations and validations while coordinating cross-functionally with engineering and program teams
- Operate independently in dynamic field environments while maintaining safety protocols
