Security Engineer
About this role
Agile Defense seeks a Security Engineer to maintain and support the Enterprise Analysis System and Focused Operations networks in Springfield, VA. The role involves managing on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, administering security tools, performing system maintenance, and ensuring compliance with change control processes while supporting the organization's critical national security missions.
What you'll do
- Maintain, configure, and install hardware and software across enterprise systems including firewalls, switches, threat detection tools, and forensic applications
- Implement automation, orchestration, and security monitoring capabilities; perform health assessments and monthly reporting on network wellness
- Administer PKI functions, manage certificates, and coordinate with change control boards to ensure proper approval and testing before production deployment
- Update and maintain operating systems, patch management servers, antivirus definitions, and backup systems; monitor logs for anomalies and security issues
- Design documentation including SOPs, technical specifications, and system diagrams for on-premises and cloud solutions
- Travel to system locations as needed for administration, repairs, and provide technical support to cross-functional teams
