About this role

Join a stealth AI startup building consumer-grade AI agents, and lead the iOS experience from ground up. You'll architect and ship an elegant native iOS app that integrates on-device LLM inference with Apple's frameworks, making AI feel like a first-party Apple feature.

What you'll do

  • Own the iOS app architecture, performance optimization, and polish end-to-end
  • Develop on-device agent runtime leveraging Apple Neural Engine and frameworks like Core ML, MLX, and App Intents
  • Handle App Store compliance, entitlements, background execution, and power management
  • Prototype novel iOS interaction patterns for agentic systems
  • Collaborate with research on model optimization for Apple silicon constraints
  • Establish iOS engineering standards and mentor other engineers on native best practices

What they're looking for

  • Expert iOS development with Swift and deep UIKit/SwiftUI knowledge
  • Performance profiling and optimization on Apple devices
  • Integration with Apple frameworks (Core ML, MLX, App Intents, Live Activities, Shortcuts)
  • App Store submission and review process expertise
  • Understanding of LLM inference and on-device model execution
  • Native app design aligned with Apple Human Interface Guidelines
  • Background execution and power optimization
  • Git, debugging, and modern iOS development tooling

Benefits

  • Competitive cash compensation and meaningful equity
  • Top-tier relocation and immigration support
  • Work with elite team from Stanford, OpenAI, and DeepMind
  • Shape the future of consumer AI on iOS
  • San Francisco in-person office
  • Access to cutting-edge AGI research and prototyping

Likely interview questions

  • Walk us through an iOS app you've shipped. What's one decision you made that you'd defend to an Apple engineer, and why?
  • How would you approach building an on-device LLM runtime on Apple Neural Engine with strict battery and thermal constraints?
