About this role
Affirm seeks a Backend Software Engineer II to build and maintain critical infrastructure for card issuance and transaction processing at scale. You'll work on systems powering authorization, account management, and platform security while collaborating across product and engineering teams in a remote US role.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and launch backend systems for card management and transaction processing
- Break down larger projects into tasks and deliver them in phases with cross-functional collaboration
- Partner with product, design, and analytics teams on technical constraints and risk assessments
- Create monitoring metrics and support on-call operations to ensure system availability
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, and codebase navigation
- Contribute to team growth through interview participation and knowledge sharing
