About this role
AEVEX Aerospace seeks a senior Design Engineer to lead aircraft structural and system modifications using Catia 3D CAD software. The role involves designing components, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating cross-functionally with stress analysts and manufacturing teams on airframe integration projects.
What you'll do
- Create engineering layouts, models, and drawings for aircraft structural and systems modifications using Catia V5
- Lead design teams through concept development to final implementation and drive technical solutions
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on proposals and development projects
- Perform and verify engineering calculations and testing to ensure safety and performance standards
- Resolve manufacturing challenges with creative problem-solving and coordinate with shop floor mechanics
- Document designs, analyses, and test results in comprehensive technical reports
