About this role
1X is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to industrialize and manage critical motor and magnet suppliers for their humanoid robot NEO. You'll drive supplier quality, process capability, and production readiness while ensuring motion system components meet performance and scalability requirements through design validation to mass production.
What you'll do
- Industrialize new motor and magnet suppliers from design validation through production ramp-up
- Establish and maintain supplier processes meeting quality, reliability, and performance targets
- Drive APQP and PPAP execution to support product launches and production readiness
- Identify and mitigate supplier quality risks through root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Improve supplier performance across quality, process capability, and continuous improvement
- Influence cross-functional teams and external suppliers to drive accountability and execution

- Permanent magnets and magnetic assembly manufacturing
- Supplier development and industrialization

- APQP and PPAP execution
- Cross-functional leadership and influence
- Electric motor or motion control systems experience (preferred)
