About this role

1X is hiring a Supplier Development Engineer to manage die-casting supplier industrialization and quality readiness for structural components in their NEO humanoid robot. You'll oversee supplier processes from prototype through production ramp, ensuring dimensional accuracy, quality standards, and cost targets are met at scale.

What you'll do

  • Industrialize new suppliers for die castings and structural assemblies through APQP and PPAP execution
  • Establish and maintain supplier processes that meet dimensional, cosmetic, and functional quality requirements
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to reduce quality escapes
  • Improve supplier capability and yield through continuous improvement initiatives
  • Travel domestically and internationally (up to 40%) to support supplier audits and problem-solving
  • Collaborate with engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing partners on process development

  • APQP/PPAP and quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949)
