About this role
Havoc is seeking a Mission Software Engineer to develop and deploy autonomous systems software for military and commercial applications in Hawaii. You'll own end-to-end software solutions across networking, autonomy, and robotics, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver mission-critical capabilities in real-world operational environments.
What you'll do
- Own and deliver customer-facing software solutions that meet mission objectives
- Develop software enhancements for autonomous systems deployed across sea, air, and land domains
- Create performance metrics and monitoring systems for deployed applications
- Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolution efforts
- Collaborate with customers to translate operational needs into software features
- Work with platform engineering teams to scale capabilities for broader use

- C++, Python, or Rust programming
- Linux development environment expertise
- Data processing and analysis at scale
- Complex systems and codebase navigation
- Autonomy frameworks (ROS, MOOS-IvP preferred)
- Distributed communication and messaging systems
- Flight systems or safety-critical software experience
- Hardware integration and robotics familiarity
