About this role

Hasbro's AI Studio seeks an Applied AI Engineer to develop intelligent character systems that authentically embody iconic brands. You'll design prompt architectures, build evaluation frameworks, and implement RAG systems to ensure AI characters maintain consistent personality, voice, and boundaries at scale.

What you'll do

  • Design and refine system prompts, character behavior definitions, and safety guardrails for AI characters
  • Build evaluation frameworks to measure character fidelity, response quality, and safety standards
  • Architect RAG systems to ground character responses in canonical knowledge using embeddings and retrieval
  • Translate creative character attributes into precise, testable AI behavior requirements with brand teams
  • Lead prompt versioning, regression testing, and model evaluation across provider updates
  • Integrate and evaluate multiple LLM APIs and emerging prompt engineering techniques

What they're looking for

  • Prompt engineering (system prompts, few-shot learning, chain-of-thought, multi-turn conversations)
  • LLM evaluation frameworks and adversarial testing
  • RAG architecture (embeddings, vector stores, retrieval evaluation)
  • Production LLM system development (3+ years)
  • Major LLM APIs (OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic)
  • Python and AWS environments
  • Voice AI services (TTS/STT)
  • Cross-functional communication with creative and non-technical stakeholders

Benefits

  • Annual and long-term incentives
  • Competitive salary range ($109,200–$163,800 USD)
  • Work on iconic entertainment brands
  • Collaborate with creative and engineering teams
  • Shape emerging AI character technology

Likely interview questions

  • Walk us through a production LLM system you've built end-to-end. How did you approach prompt engineering, and what techniques did you use to ensure consistent behavior?
  • Describe your experience designing evaluation frameworks for LLM outputs. How would you measure whether an AI character is staying true to its personality and canon?
