About this role

Hadrian seeks a Test Automation Engineer to design and own comprehensive test strategies for aerospace and defense hardware, from component bring-up through production ramp. You'll build test stations, fixtures, automated sequences, and data pipelines while partnering across design, quality, and operations to drive manufacturing excellence.

What you'll do

  • Define and own complete test architecture including incoming inspection, bench bring-up, in-process checks, qualification, and end-of-line acceptance
  • Design and build production-grade test fixtures, harnesses, and instrumentation racks with integrated instruments (DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, machine vision, etc.)
  • Develop automated test sequences in Python, LabVIEW, or TestStand with structured data capture and full traceability
  • Commission test stations on the floor, troubleshoot yield issues, and drive run-at-rate readiness
  • Partner cross-functionally with Design Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Operations on DFT, incoming drift, and usability
  • Apply MSA/Gauge R&R, SPC, and root cause analysis to defend test limits and drive continuous improvement

What they're looking for

  • Test engineering and ATE/EOL platform development (5+ years)
  • Python, LabVIEW, or TestStand automation frameworks
  • Electrical test and measurement fundamentals (accuracy, grounding, shielding, calibration, safety)
  • MSA/Gauge R&R, Cpk, SPC, and false reject analysis
  • High-current/high-power test experience with electronic loads and isolated measurement
  • MES/data pipeline integration (SQL, REST, MQTT, OPC-UA)
  • PCB and custom test interface design
  • IEC 61010, NFPA 70E, MIL-STD, or JEDEC standards knowledge

Benefits

  • Competitive salary: $150,000 - $250,000 based on experience
  • Work on cutting-edge autonomous manufacturing technology for aerospace and defense
  • Hands-on role with direct production impact and ownership
  • Opportunity to scale with rapidly expanding company launching Factory 3 and Hadrian Maritime
  • Backed by top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz and Founders Fund

Likely interview questions

  • Walk us through a test station you took from requirements to production commissioning—what were the biggest challenges in station design, fixture architecture, or software automation, and how did you resolve them?
  • Describe your hands-on experience with automated test frameworks like Python, LabVIEW, or TestStand. How have you structured data capture and traceability across instrument readings, calibration, and pass/fail limits?
