About this role
General Matter seeks software engineers to develop critical control systems for uranium enrichment operations. You'll work on high-performance, safety-critical software across backend services, distributed systems, and developer tooling in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
What you'll do
- Design and implement production-grade software systems in C++ and Python with focus on reliability and maintainability
- Architect complex solutions for system control, data processing, and distributed coordination
- Lead technical design and code reviews to enforce engineering best practices
- Develop high-performance APIs and services that coordinate control systems and manage distributed hardware state
- Build fault-tolerant systems for real-time sensor telemetry and infrastructure reliability
- Create developer platforms, CI/CD systems, and observability tools for safe iteration in production
