Gallatin AI
Infrastructure Engineer
About this role
Gallatin seeks an Infrastructure Engineer to design and operate secure, resilient platforms supporting defense logistics software across cloud and edge environments. You'll own end-to-end infrastructure outcomes, embed security into every system, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver trusted artifacts to warfighters in complex operational settings.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and deploy secure production systems across cloud-native and edge appliance deployments
- Operate production Kubernetes clusters in commercial and government clouds with multi-cluster operations and high availability
- Harden artifact pipeline to ensure signed builds work consistently across commercial cloud, high-side, and air-gapped deployments
- Embed security controls including identity, network segmentation, secrets management, and CVE remediation into infrastructure systems
- Partner with Governance, Risk, and Compliance teams on STIG implementation, audit preparation, and controls for IL5/IL6/JWICS environments
- Collaborate on RFCs, PRDs, and production code alongside Product and Engineering teams
What they're looking for
- 5+ years production infrastructure operations (DevOps, SRE, Platform, or Cloud roles)
- Deep Kubernetes expertise (operators, networking, storage, multi-cluster operations)
- Major cloud provider experience (AWS, Azure, or equivalent)
- Air-gapped and disconnected environment deployment experience
- Infrastructure security and hardening practices
- CI/CD and DevSecOps pipeline design
- Monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
- Problem-solving and independent decision-making
