About this role

Formic seeks a Robotics Field Service Engineer to maintain and support deployed robotic manufacturing systems across customer facilities. You'll diagnose failures, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure system uptime in fast-paced production environments while building lasting customer relationships.

What you'll do

  • Perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on robotic manufacturing cells
  • Respond to service escalations, diagnose root causes, and restore systems to production quickly
  • Provide technical support and training to customer operators and maintenance teams
  • Document service work, root cause analysis, and maintenance activity in CMMS systems
  • Monitor system performance remotely and identify recurring failure patterns
  • Coordinate field scheduling with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders

  • Field service troubleshooting on robotic or industrial automation systems
  • Electrical, mechanical, PLC, and robotic control system diagnostics
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and pneumatic drawings
  • CMMS platform experience for maintenance tracking
  • Safety compliance and LOTO procedures
  • Technical documentation and communication
  • 6-axis robot brands (Fanuc, KUKA, Yaskawa, ABB, Universal Robots)
  • Spanish language proficiency (bonus)
