About this role

Formic seeks a Robotics Field Service Engineer to maintain and support industrial robotic systems deployed across manufacturing facilities. You'll diagnose failures, perform preventative maintenance, and restore production in fast-paced factory environments while building strong customer relationships and driving fleet reliability.

What you'll do

  • Diagnose and resolve robotic system failures on-site and remotely to restore production quickly
  • Perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on manufacturing cells
  • Provide technical training and support to customer operators and maintenance teams
  • Document service activity, root cause analysis, and spare part requirements in CMMS systems
  • Monitor system performance using Formic dashboards and identify recurring failure patterns
  • Coordinate field scheduling with customers, vendors, and internal teams while maintaining safety compliance

What they're looking for

  • Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and PLC systems
  • Reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and pneumatic drawings
  • CMMS platform experience for maintenance tracking
  • 6-axis robot programming or operation (Fanuc, KUKA, Yaskawa, ABB, Universal Robots preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication with clear documentation skills
  • Industrial automation and conveyor/palletizing system knowledge
  • Safety protocol adherence (LOTO and compliance standards)
  • Root cause analysis and continuous improvement mindset
